PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State's Jackie Albright was named to the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Volleyball All-Academic second team and two more Cougars were named to the honorable mention squad, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.

Albright, a senior from Lake Forest, Calif., is a civil engineering major with a 3.56 grade point average. She is a four-year starter at outside hitter and a two-year team tri-captain. She was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII first team for University Division as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week.

Senior Cassie Robbins, a middle blocker from Yakima, Wash. (3.35 GPA, hospitality business management) and junior Faith Hutcherson, a defensive specialist from Redmond, Wash., (3.14 GPA, communication) were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention team.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or a significant contributor. In 2009, seven student-athletes were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic Volleyball first team, seven were named to the second team and 32 were named honorable mention.
