COUGARS TRAVEL TO THE DESERT
The Washington State University volleyball team (6-18 overall, 0-14 Pac-10) travels to the desert schools for two matches this weekend...Cougs meet No. 22 Arizona (18-9, 7-7) Friday, Nov. 19 in Tucson, and then travel to Tempe to take on Arizona State (11-16, 5-9) Saturday, Nov. 20...both desert schools are coming off road losses in Los Angeles...both matches start at 7 p.m. Mountain Time / 6 p.m. Pacific Time.

WSU hosted Arizona State Oct. 22 and lost to the Sun Devils 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 15-25, 25-16, 5-10)...Meagan Ganzer had 19 kills, Rachel Todorovich had 15 kills...Oceana Bush had a match-high 22 digs with Kaleinani Kabalis and Ganzer adding another 29 digs... Sarah Reaves led the Sun Devils with 16 kills and 13 digs...Erica Wilson and Danica Mendivil combined for 24 kills, Malia Marquardt had six blocks and Wilson added five more...Sarah Johnson had 18 digs with Cat Highmark adding 47 assists and 14 digs...ASU hit .170 for the match and WSU hit .160...Cougars had the lead in blocks with 12 team to ASU's 11...each team committed 10 service errors...Oct. 23 No. 25 Arizona defeated WSU (25-16, 25-17, and 25-20)...Ganzer led all players with 12 kills... Faith Hutcherson landed three service aces...Arizona's Cursty Jackson and Tiffany Owens combined for 21 kills and Owens led the match with 10 digs...Wildcats hit .302 for the match and held WSU to .041, and out-blocked the Cougs 8 to 5.
GANZER IS COUGS' OFFENSIVE WEAPON
Junior outside hitter Meagan Ganzer (Black Diamond, Wash.) is third in the Pac-10 with a 4.70 kills per set average (8th nationally) and fourth with 5.45 points per set (8th nationally)...Ganzer has tallied three 30-point matches this season...tallied double-digit kills in 19 of the 22 matches this season...has 859 career kills...Ganzer played the NCAA No. 1 offensive player, Tulsa's Tyler Henderson (6.32 kps and 6.79 pps) earlier this season.
COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Head Coach Andrew Palileo is in his third season at WSU...returned Cougars to NCAA Championship tournament in 2009...Palileo has a 34-50 overall record at WSU, and a 14-year career record of 273-191...named 2009 Pac-10 Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars to their first winning season (18-13) since 2002, with six league wins, the most since 2002...associate head coach Brian Lamppa (third season)...assistant coach Jennifer Fry (first season)...Kara Kiefer, coordinator of operations (second season)...Tina Martin, volunteer coach (second season).
