PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State women's volleyball awards for the 2002 season were handed out at the team's banquet Saturday night at the Pullman Quality Inn.

Senior LaToya Harris was selected by her teammates as the most valuable player and freshman setter Brenn Larson took home the most improved award. For the second straight year, best offensive player went to senior outside hitter Adrian Hankoff and senior libero Kortney Jamtaas won the best defensive player honors.

The top academic award went to sophomore Alison Billingsley. Hankoff and senior Chelsie Schafer's work in the weight room earned them the top award from the strength and conditioning coaches.

The WSU volleyball team finished with an overall record of 24-8 last fall, 11-7 for third place in the Pac-10, and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championships tournament.
