Final Stats

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The No. 21 Arizona Wildcats volleyball team had four players in double-figure kills to defeat Washington State 30-17, 30-19, 30-28 Friday night at Bohler Gym.

Arizona moves to a 16-9 overall record and 8-7 in Pac-10 action while WSU drops to 4-23 overall, 1-13 in conference matches.

The Wildcats were led by the 14 kills and two service aces of Kim Glass. Bre Ladd and Jolene Killough added 12 kills each and Killough was the match-leader with eight blocks. Kellie Mulvani had 12 digs and Stephanie Butkus had 42 assists.

The Cougars were led by the 15 kills of Kelly Rosin while Jennifer Todd added 13 kills, Alison Billingsley had a match-high 17 digs, and Nicole Martin had 30 assists.

Arizona hit .400 for the match and held WSU to .144 hitting percentage, in addition to out-blocking the Cougs nine to four.

"I'm much more pleased with tonight's effort against Arizona, then I was with the effort in last nights match against Arizona State," WSU Head Coach Brian Heffernan said. "Even though the result was the same, losing 3-0, I felt just the presence of Stacey Holbrook and Alison Billingsley on the court, in every single rotation (was the difference). Typically Alison is our defensive specialist and she's only in there for three rotations - we can only benefit from her leadership abilities for three rotations, but we made a little switch kind of changing from a big team to a little bit of a smaller team, and having Stacey Holbrook hit on the left. Stacy Holbrook gave us exactly what our offensive hitters gave us last night: she took nine swings got a kill and an error."
