PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State volleyball team took a 30-21, 30-23, 30-25, non-conference win over Gonzaga Tuesday night at Bohler Gym.
The win stopped a four-match losing streak for the Cougars and moved their overall record to 6-10. Gonzaga dropped to 3-14 overall.
"It was nice to get back on the winning track again," WSU Coach Cindy Fredrick said. "And it was nice to play everyone too."
Sixteen Cougars saw action in the match, including seven freshmen and three redshirt freshmen. Freshmen Jessie Camp and Jennifer Todd combined for 23 of WSU's 45 kills. Todd had six blocks while Brenn Larson had 31 assists and Megan Camp had eight digs. Jen Barcus had three service aces.
Gonzaga's Lauren Armas and Abby Cullen had seven kills each and the Bulldogs were kept to a .000 hitting percentage. Cullen had seven blocks as the Zags led WSU in that category, 11 to 9. Christina Davis and Heather Signor had nine digs each.
Washington State travels to meet Pac-10 foes Oregon State Friday, Oct. 10, and Oregon Saturday, Oct. 11.
