MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Washington State defeated Arkansas 30-15, 30-21, 30-18, in the Cougars second match of the Kansas State Wildcat Tournament Saturday at Ahearn Field House in Manhattan, Kansas.

WSU, now 5-1, hit .254 for the match and kept Arkansas, 1-4, at a .010 hitting percentage. Adrian Hankoff had five of WSU's 11 service aces. Holly Harris tagged 13 kills while Zanda Bautre had 11 kills and hit .318 for the Cougars. Setter Kali Surplus had 38 assists and 11 kills with a .615 hitting percentage. Five service aces and a .353 hitting percentage gave the Cougars a first game win of 30-15. The Lady Backs hit a -.032. WSU had to play just a little longer in game one due to a miscalculation by the official scorekeeper in awarding a WSU point to Arkansas at the 21-13 juncture.

Game two went to the Cougs, 30-21, with five more service aces for the Wazzu women, and WSU cruised to the third game win, 30-18, with Victoria Prince and Chelsie Schafer each grabbing a solo block.
