SCARPINO'S WSU CAREER.
SOPHOMORE (2011):
Transferred from Hofstra in Fall...saw action in 96 sets in 30 matches...career-high 15 digs vs. Portland...had three service aces at No. 11 Washington at end of season.

SCARPINO'S PRE-WSU CAREER.
Played defensive specialist one season at Hofstra University in New York...saw action in 116 of 124 sets...led the team with 43 service aces...had 2.20 digs per set average...named to Dean's List at Hofstra.

SCARPINO'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER.
Earned four varsity letters at the Iolani School...two in cross country and two in track for coach Chet Blanton...during cross country competition placed fourth at state meet as junior and qualified for state meet senior year...on the track, competed at state meet both sophomore and junior year in 800m, 1500m and 4x400m relay...top times were 2:26 for 800m and 4:58 for 1500m...was first place overall female at 2007 Windward Half Marathon and 5k...Asics Rainbow Volleyball Club team placed second in the Club division at the 2007 Junior Olympics...member of the High Performance A2 Red team in Arizona in 2008...on the High Performance A2 team in 2009 competed in the World Tour tournament, taking on the Swiss national team.

Born July 1990 in Houston, Texas...father Jon is an orthopedic surgeon who was on the Bowdoin College swim and track teams...mother Janet Matherne...younger sisters Meah and Morgan Matherne...was on Headmaster's List at Iolani School...awarded best student in physics...member of National Honor Society...majoring in psychology at WSU.
