PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State women's tennis coach Lisa Hart has been named the Pacific Northwest recipient of the 2012 USTA/ITA Sectional Campus QuickStart Provider of the Year award, it was recently announced.

The award recognizes college coaches who have promoted the 10 and Under Tennis format for elementary school children by hosting QuickStart programs on campus. With smaller racquets, softer balls and shorter courts, 10 and Under Tennis ensures that America's newest tennis players enjoy the sport from their first experience.

"This award is a testament to our teams' commitment to community service and growing the game of tennis," said Hart. "I am proud of our teams' accomplishments on the court, in the classroom and in the community."

This recognition adds to Hart's impressive community service record, having received regional Community Service Awards in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2011 by the USTA and the ITA. The award honors ITA coaches for their significant contributions in developing community based tennis programs through community centers and schools. Hart was also the 2008 USTA/ITA Community Outreach Award national recipient.
