Trio of Tennis Players Sign National Letter of Intent

PULLMAN, Wash. - A trio of student-athletes have signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at Washington State, head coach Lisa Hart announced Tuesday. Cathrine Arnholdt Pedersen and Marija Mirosavljevic plan to enroll at WSU next fall while Dajana Ognjenovic is expected to enroll in January 2013.
"We are excited to add all three to our program," said Hart. "Each will add quality and depth to our team, are strong academically, and will be great representatives of Cougar tennis. We are expecting Dajana to be here in January and will immediately challenge for a spot in the lineup, while Cathrine and Marija will enroll at the start of next year."
Pedersen, from Slagelse, Denmark, has a junior ranking of No.1 in Denmark. She played for the Danish National Team and reached the finals at the Official Scandinavian National Team Championships. Pedersen also won the state championships in Denmark in singles, doubles and mixed-doubles along with a second place finish at the Danish National Championships in singles and doubles.
Ognjenovic, from Belgrade, Serbia, was ranked third in Serbia during the 2008 and 2010 season. She reached the semifinals of the XXVII Memorial of Cikov tournament and won the Serbia Masters Cup in 2008. In 2009, she reached the final of the Tennis Point Open tournament and then won the Tennis Point Open tournament in 2010.
Mirosavljevic also hails from Belgrade, Serbia, and has been ranked as high as No. 14 in the under 16s in her home country. She has won four national junior tournaments and participated in multiple ITF women's circuit events.
