Vasilieva to Begin Play at All-American Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State senior Liudmila Vasilieva is set to begin play at the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, Oct. 2-7 in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Vasilieva, ranked No. 33 nationally, will face No. 71 Caroline Price of North Carolina, Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday's match marks the first meeting between the two players and the first time Vasilieva has participated in the All-American Championships. The prestigious event draws the best collegiate players and is considered the top collegiate tournament of the fall season.
The Cougar senior begins the qualifying round Tuesday needing three victories to advance to the main draw. She enters the event as the No. 7 seed with the top eight qualifiers advancing.
