WSU Tennis Senior Lorena Arias Named Pacific-10 First Team All-Academic

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State senior tennis player Lorena Arias was named Pacific-10 First Team All-Academic for the second straight year, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced, Friday.

A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Arias boasts a 3.58 grade point average in communications. She led the Cougars with 22 singles victories in 2003-04 and combined with Chris Martinez to tie the WSU record with 46 career doubles wins.

Martinez, a native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, garnered honorable mention honors along with fellow juniors Zsofia Fodor and Nora Gaal for the second consecutive year. Martinez is an international business major with a 3.04 GPA.

Fodor is from Pecs, Hungary and has a 3.29 GPA with an undeclared major. Gaal hails from Szekesfehervar, Hungary and carries a 3.32 GPA in international business.
