Tennis Heads To Pac-10 Championships
April 23, 2002 The Washington State women's tennis team heads to Ojai, Calif., for the Pacific-10 Individual Championships. The tournament will be held April 25-28. The Cougars are ranked 30th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings. Washington State finished the regular season with an 11-10 record (2-6 in the Pac-10) and defeated seven nationally ranked teams this season. "Hopefully we'll go down to California, have some fun and compete like champions," said WSU Head Coach Cari Groce. "The Pac-10 has some of the best tennis in the country, so this will be a good test for our players."
The Cougars are anchored by Erica Perkins, a senior ranked 47th, and Stacy McKenna, a sophomore ranked 95th nationally. Combined they form the No. 15 doubles team.
