College Station, Texas-- The Washington State women's tennis team concluded its fall season on a high note with a solid performance at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Led by No.1 singles player Lorena Arias, the Cougars won three singles matches against Tulane in Round Robin action. Arias beat Tulane's Jenny Kuhn 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(8). Also winning for the Cougars were sophomore Zsofi Fodor (No 5) and freshman Melanie Humphrey (No 6).

"I'm very pleased with the play this weekend," said WSU tennis coach Cari Groce. "TCU, Texas A&M, and Tulane all are very strong programs. The entire team impressed me, and we're play really good tennis."

Washington State was working to find a lineup for the spring season as this is the last competition until the Cougars take the courts at the Jan. 17 Pacific-10 Indoor Championships in Seattle.

Each session consisted of four doubles matches followed by eight singles matches. However, no team scoring was kept, and the matches count only for individual records.
