Senior Orsolya Sallai Ends Tournament on High Note

STANFORD, Calif. - The Washington State Women's Tennis team concluded play at the ITA Regional Sunday. Sallai posted two consolation singles victories for the Cougars. The Budapest, Hungary-native, put down Amanda Wise of UC-Davis, 6-2, 6-4 and then knocked off Cal Poly's Chelsey Thompson 6-3, 7-6(3). "We're so proud of the way Orsolya carried the momentum of her win yesterday into today," WSU Head Coach Lisa Hart said. Sallai paired with Chris Martinez for a quarterfinal doubles match against No. 13 and No. 1 seed in the tournament Alice Barnes/Erin Burdette of Stanford. The Cougar duo fell to the Stanford pair by a score of 8-1. Next up, the Cougars will head to Chapel Hill N.C., for the UNC Tournament Nov. 5-7.
