EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Oregon captured five singles matches and one of three doubles matches to hand the Washington State University Cougars a 6-3 loss Friday in women's tennis.
No. 6 singles player Melissa Pine was the only Cougar to beat her opponent, after battling back from an early deficit to win 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
WSU's Andrea Reisz and Tunde Nagy combined for a 8-3 over Alina Wygonowska and Ali Napier in opening double competition.
The Cougars travel to Seattle this weekend to participate in the Husky Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington.
Washington State's results from their match with the University of California-Santa Barbara were not available at press time.
