TUCSON, Ariz. - The No. 54 Washington State Cougar tennis team failed to post any points and took only one victory as they fell, 6-0, to the No. 36 Arizona Wildcats in an early make-up match Sunday. The Cougars were scheduled to take-on the Wildcats Friday, but the match was postponed due to rainfall.

The Cougars (5-12, 1-4 Pac-10) came away with a victory in No. 2 doubles, but failed to capture the doubles point for the fourth straight dual match. The No. 7-ranked Wildcat pair of Dianne Hollands/Maja Mlakar defeated Cougars Chris Martinez/Orsolya Sallai in No. 1 doubles with a score of 8-1. The No. 45-ranked Cougar pair Lorena Arias/Zsofia Fodor put down their Arizona Foes, Debbie Larocque/Kasia Jakowlew, 8-6 to record win number seven for the Cougar pair. Arizona's Kelly Perry/Jessie Rochefort were too much for Cougars Nora Gaal/Zorana Roganovic as the Wildcat pair took the match, 8-1.

Washington State struggled in singles, and it was swept in all but one match. The No. 6 singles match between Arizona's Ferreira and WSU's Nelly Dvornicka could not be completed due to rain, the score was 3-6, 6-4 when play was halted.

In No. 1 singles Arias continued her losing skid to three matches, which marks the first time this season the Cougar has dropped three in a row, by falling to No. 21 Hollands, 6-0, 6-1. Sallai also came up winless in a three set match against No. 74 Mlakar, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, in the No. 2 slot. Gaal was knocked off in straight sets by Larocque, 6-4, 6-3.

In No. 4 and No. 5 singles Martinez and Toth were both handled in straight sets by their Wildcat opponents. Perry downed Martinez, 6-2, 6-4 while Toth fell to Rochefort, 6-1, 6-3.

Washington State will square off against USC and UCLA April 9 and 10, respectively. The trip to Southern California marks the last road trip the Cougar's will take this season.
