LEWISTON, Idaho -- The No. 42 Washington State tennis team lost to the No. 20 Washington Huskies 7-0, Sunday.

The Cougars (6-3) lost the doubles point and all six singles matches. At No. 1 singles, UW's No 63 Claire Carter defeated WSU sophomore Orsolya Sallai, 6-1, 6-0. Washington's other ranked singles player, No. 39 Dea Sumantri, played at No. 3 singles and beat WSU sophomore Chris Martinez, 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles action, No. 8 Carter/Darija Klaic held on to defeat WSU's Lorena Arias/Martinez, 9-7.

The Cougars will travel to sunny Southern California for two matches this weekend. WSU plays San Diego State (Saturday March 8) and the University of San Diego (Sunday March 9). Both matches start at noon.
