WSU CAREER

JUNIOR (2009-10): Fifth player on the team to earn 20 wins on the season, posting 21-19 record...picked up 17 total doubles wins...won her first round match of the Pac-10 Invitational bracket for the second year in a row...had an eight match win-streak to start the fall season...won her third Cougar Classic title...had a four match win streak to begin the spring season...won first round match of the Pac-10 Tournament for the second year in a row...posted a 10-2 singles record during the fall season, tying for second best on the team...reached the final of the Gonzaga/Eastern Washington Invitational...was 8-2 in fall doubles play, winning two tournament titles with partner Erin Troedson.

SOPHOMORE (2008-09): Second on the team in singles victories with 17...third on team with 10 doubles victories...opened fall season with five-game win streak...second five game win streak came in March, including beating a Pac-10 opponent from Oregon...won her first round at the Pac-10 Invitational, 6-0 and 6-1...posted a 5-3 record for the Cougars during fall play...won the No. 3 singles championship at the Cougar Classic...competed at the Jack Taylor BSU Invitational and the ITA NW Regional...posted five doubles wins on the season with partner Jessica Gomez...received the team Academic Excellence Award.

FRESHMAN (2007-08): Finished her first season at WSU with a 15-11 record...the 15 wins are sixth on the team and second for wins by a freshman...started the season with four straight wins...captured the Flight 3 singles Championship at the Cougar Classic...competed in the USTA Women's Collegiate Invitational and ITA Northwest Regional...competed against one ranked opponent on the season, No 101 Leyla Entekhabi of USC...earned a 4-1 record against in state opponents...played in five three set matches earning three victories...composed a 10-18 record while paired with four different teammates in doubles play...found most success with junior Bianca Selaru earning all 10 victories.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER Held Senior Spanish rankings as high as No. 65 in 2006...during this time won two championships while reaching the finals two other times...in 2007 she has attained a No. 83 ranking while winning one championship and runner up in the other.

PERSONAL Marina Nicolas...born in Zaragoza Spain...father Ciriaco Nicolas is a chemist... mother Josefa Chueca is a teacher...older brother Manuel...enjoys reading and music...graduated sixth in her class...will pursue a degree in civil engineering at WSU.
