Washington State swimming battles Northern Arizona at 5 p.m. Nov. 9, 2012 at Gibb Pool...WSU is 5-2 against Northern Arizona and hasn't lost a meet to the Lumberjacks at home...Cougars are undefeated at home this season with a win over Seattle U earlier last month.
The Cougars return home after facing Pac-12 powerhouses UCLA and USC as well as UC Davis...WSU had some great swims throughout the weekend, but fell short of a victory bringing their record to 2-5...senior Emma Johansson showed up strong for the Cougs against UCLA and UC Davis winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.06...freshman Loree Olson also showed great potential finishing second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.25 and third in the 400 IM at 4:29.72...sophomore Nicole Proulx shined for WSU against the undefeated Trojans with a second place showing (59.17) in the 100 meter freestyle.
HIGHLIGHTING NORTHERN ARIZONA
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks had a solid 2011-12 season highlighted by a second place finish at WAC Championships...NAU is currently undefeated this season (3-0) with wins over Arizona State, New Mexico, and Northern Colorado.
Head coach Tom Jager is currently in his second year at Washington State after spending seven years coaching at Idaho...Jager is a six-time NCAA Champion, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist...Jager is joined by assistant coach Adriana Quirke...Quirke was Jager's assistant coach at Idaho for the past three seasons...rounding out the Cougar coaching staff is volunteer assistant coach Jessie Grow.
