Cougar Swimming Travels to Sunny L.A. for a Pair of Dual Meets

THIS WEEK
WSU Swimming travels to Los Angeles to battle UCLA and USC Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, 2012...Cougars look to grab their first wins over the Bruins and Trojans in school history...first time WSU will take on USC on the road...racing starts at 1p.m. against UCLA Friday Nov. 2, 2012 and again at 10 a.m. facing USC Saturday Nov. 3, 2012.

COUGAR CATCH-UP
Last week, the Cougars went 1-2 bringing their season record to 2-2...two dual meet wins on the season matching the number of wins from last season...senior Emma Johansson posted the 13th-best time in NCAA Division I swimming this season with a 54.82 in the 100 butterfly against ASU and Grand Canyon... Johansson also swam a lifetime best 55.93 in the 100 backstroke, the third-fastest time in Cougar history.

HIGHLIGHTING UCLA AND USC
The Cougars last saw UCLA and USC at 2012 Pac-12 Championships... USC finished third, UCLA earned the fifth place spot, and WSU swam to a ninth place finish... both USC and UCLA competed at NCAA Championships last season finishing third and tied for 37th, respectively... UCLA and USC are undefeated so far this season.

COACHING STAFF
Head coach Tom Jager enters his second year at Washington State after spending seven years coaching at Idaho...Jager is a six-time NCAA Champion, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist...Jager is joined by assistant coach Adriana Quirke...Quirke was Jager's assistant coach at Idaho for the past three seasons...rounding out the Cougar coaching staff is volunteer assistant coach Jessie Grow.
