Cougar Duo Named Pac-12 All-Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Melissa Bogert and junior Shelbi Luchini were named Pac-12 Conference All-Academic First Team, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Friday. The duo heads a group of eight Cougars to earn conference honors. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor. Bogert, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.78 GPA, earned first team selection for third-straight year. Luchini was named to the first team for the second-consecutive season and owns a 3.74 GPA in international business. Senior Jessie Craig (3.59/psychology) was named to the second team for the second year in a row. Seniors Sarah Hicks (3.34/Spanish) and Danielle Palumbo (3.01/communications), junior Jenna Bekker (3.10/movement studies), and sophomores Emma Johansson (3.58/undeclared) and Heather Morlan (3.06/undeclared) each received honorable mention.
