Cougar Swimming Earns National Academic Award

CHICAGO - The Washington State women's swimming team received the Team Scholar All-America Award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for its academic performance in the fall of 2011.

During the academic semester, the Cougars posted a team grade point average of 3.21. The Washington State GPA was the third highest among the Pac-12 schools and ranked sixth among schools on the West Coast.

The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
