Copland to Compete in FINA World Cup.
Feb. 10, 2005 Washington State women's swimming team member, Jane Copland will be traveling to Long Island, N.Y., to compete in the Federation Internationale de Natation World Cup Meet at the Nassau Aquatic Center. Copland will be swimming for her father's club team hailing from the U.S. Virgin Islands. Copland is currently ranked 30th nationally for her time of 2:16.68 in the 200 breaststroke. She needs to drop her time in order to stay among the top 30 competitors in this event to guarantee herself a spot at the NCAA Championships. The FINA meet will be held in a short-course meters pool similar to one where Copland trained growing up. WSU's Gibb Pool, a 25-yard pool.
