Fresh off back-to-back dual wins Washington State swimming hits the road to take on CSU Bakersfield at Hillman Aquatics Complex Feb. 9, 2013 at noon...dual meet marks first match up against the two schools.
COUGAR CATCH-UP
The Cougars had a strong meet against the Idaho Vandals last week, dominating from start to finish...freshman Loree Olson claimed first place in the 1000 free (10:33.54) and 200 backstroke (2:03.40)...junior Emma Johansson had a solid performance as well with wins in the 100 back (56.24) and 100 fly (56.15)...other first place finishers included Haley Anderson in the 500 free (5:12.65), Evelina Bieleckaite in the 50 free (24.08), and Presley Wetterstrom in the 200 breast (2:21.12).
HIGHLIGHTING CSU BAKERSFIELD
CSU Bakersfield finished seventh at MPSF Swimming Championships last season...the Roadrunners are 7-6 this season including wins over Seattle and Pacific...currently a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
COACHING STAFF
Head coach Tom Jager is in his second year at Washington State after spending seven years coaching at Idaho...Jager is a six-time NCAA Champion, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist...Jager is joined by assistant coach Adriana Quirke...Quirke was Jager's assistant coach at Idaho for the past three seasons...rounding out the Cougar coaching staff is volunteer assistant coach Jessie Grow.
