Cougar Swimming Hits the Road to Take on Oregon State

THIS WEEK
Washington State swimming returns to the pool to face Pac-12 foe Oregon State, Friday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m...last season the Cougars hosted OSU at home falling 143-119...WSU leads the swimming series against OSU 28 - 19...Cougars look to add another win to their 3-5 dual meet record for the season.

COUGAR CATCH-UP
The Cougars last saw action at the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Iowa finishing sixth (278 points) in the field of 10 schools...freshman Loree Olson finished fourth in the "A" final of the 200 backstroke with an NCAA "B" cut time (1:58.72) and moved into second on the WSU All-Time Top Ten list...sophomore Nicole Proulx won the "B" final of the 100 freestyle (50.72)...junior Emma Johansson finished fourth in the "B" final of the 100 backstroke earning a NCAA "B" standard time of 54.91...senior Shelbi Luchini shined in the 200 IM final posting the seventh fastest time in the event (2:04.30).

HIGHLIGHTING OREGON STATE
Last season the Oregon State Beavers finished eighth (326.5 points) at Pac-12 Championships finished one place ahead of WSU...Beavers are 1-8 this season with a win over Northern Arizona.

COACHING STAFF
Head coach Tom Jager is in his second year at Washington State after spending seven years coaching at Idaho...Jager is a six-time NCAA Champion, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist...Jager is joined by assistant coach Adriana Quirke...Quirke was Jager's assistant coach at Idaho for the past three seasons...rounding out the Cougar coaching staff is volunteer assistant coach Jessie Grow.
