WSU Swimming Faring Well At Invites

The Washington State women's swimming team had a strong showing on the first day of the Princeton Invitational. Sophomore Erin McCleave recorded a third place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:54.94. The time is a lifetime best for McCleave. It places her second on the Cougars' All-Time Top 10 list and was .9 seconds off the NCAA consideration time. McCleave finished fifth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.88 and had a qualifying time of 23.74 in the same event. Her time places her fifth on the Cougars' All-Time Top 10 List, overtaking her previous time of 23.90 Junior Jane Copland swam a season best time of 2:05.47 in the 200 individual medley to capture a third place finish. Freshman McKenzie Reiter also swam a lifetime best in the qualifying for the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.76. Her time places her fourth on the Cougars' All-Time Top 10 List. The Cougars' 400 medley relay team recorded a second place finish with a time of 3:51.84.
WSU will continue to compete in the Princeton Invitational and the Jingle Bell Invite Dec. 4-5.
