FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Washington State swimmer Erin McCleave made her second final in two days during the 2006 U.S. National Spring Championships held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, Friday.

A native of Rutherlen, Australia, McCleave earned a 24th place finish in the 400m freestyle. She swam a long course personal best 4:23.03 in the preliminaries and followed with a 4:26.22 in the "C" Final. Thursday, McCleave finished 11th in the 200m freestyle.

Also in action Friday was Monika Povilonyte, who finished 40th in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:15.14.

The meet concludes Saturday. WSU will have entries in the 1500m freestyle (McCleave), 200m individual medley (Kayli Changstrom and Kenzie Reiter) and 400m medley relay. For live results, visit www.usaswimming.org.
