LONG BEACH, Calif. - Washington State women's swimming moved to ninth place at the end of the second day of competition at the 2007 Pac-10 Swimming Championships in Long Beach, Calif.

Senior Erin McCleave turned in an NCAA Qualifying time of 4:43.46 in the 500 freestyle to place second in the event. The time was also a personal best for McCleave.

Kayli Changstrom finished 21st overall in the 500 freestyle. Her time of 4:53.14 was a personal best time and an NCAA "B" Consideration Standard time, the first this year for the senior.

In the 200 individual medley, freshman Shawna Keller finished 20th with an NCAA "B" Consideration Standard time of 2:03.97.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Jamie MacLeod, Elyse Peterson, Beth Newhouse and Shawna Keller turned in a time of 1:36.29 to finish ninth in the final event of the day.

Competition continues Friday with the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay events.
