SOCCER CAPTAIN'S DIARY: NEVADA AND SACRAMENTO STATE September 14, 2006 Returning to Pullman and Lower Soccer Field, the entire team was excited to play Nevada and Sacramento State soccer teams! We started the weekend with Friday's (Sept. 8) game against the Nevada Wolf Pack. Nevada came to town with a 4-0-0 record and proved to be a challenging opponent beating us 2-1. Kiersten Dallstream scored our lone goal but we were disappointed by many of our missed opportunities for a tie or a win. After a hard loss on Friday, we were all excited to raise our spirits by getting a chance to watch our Cougar football team demolish Idaho on Saturday! We also got introduced as a team during the third quarter of the game. With a newfound spirits, we played a Sacramento State squad that came into Cougarland with a record of 4-1-0, but left 4-2-0. Anna Miller scored off a penalty kick after Carly Dobratz got fouled in the box. The split weekend served as another learning and growth experience for our team. We have more home games this weekend and we hope to use these new lessons and capitalize on both opportunities. We look forward to playing at Cougarland for a second weekend in a row. Go Cougs!! -Angela Fajardo, Anna Miller and Allison Scurich
