WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Mariah Cameron and junior Rachael Doyle highlighted 11 Washington State student-athletes named to the 2012 Pac-12 Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic teams, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Wednesday.

A psychology major with a 3.84 GPA, Cameron earned a first team selection after being named to the second team in 2010 and 2011. Doyle, a movement studies major holding a 3.92 GPA, earned a first team selection after being named to the second team in 2011.

Seniors Ariana Byrd and Shannon McFadden, along with redshirt-junior Kayla Johnson, each garnered second team honors.

Johnson (3.79 GPA, medical sciences major) was second team for the third-consecutive year. McFadden (3.67 GPA, elementary education) earned the honor after back-to-back years of honorable mention, while Byrd (3.65 GPA, psychology) nabbed her first award.

Junior, Delaney Zalud earned honorable mention for the second consecutive year, while sophomores Korynn Blanksma, Beau Bremer, Jocelyn Jeffers, Mesa Owsley, and Jamie Schnieders each were selected for the first time.

The Cougars have earned 114 all-conference academic awards in the last decade. The overall selections are second in the Pac-12 to California's 115 during that span, but the Cougars hold an 18-3 advantage in first team honors over the Golden Bears and a 37-13 margin in first and second team awards combined.
