Cougars Extend Unbeaten Streak Against the Huskies
It was senior day for five Washington student-athletes at Husky Soccer Field, Thursday night. However, it was three Washington State student-athletes who became the fifth-consecutive Cougar senior class to finish unbeaten against the Huskies.
LAST WEEK
Washington State swept the Oregon schools during a pair of matches at Lower Soccer Field...Friday, the Cougars overcame Oregon State with a 2-1 victory...Jocelyn Jeffers and Nicole Setterlund netted the two Cougar goals...Sunday, WSU shut out Oregon 1-0...Brandi Vega recorded the solitary goal...Cougar defense was steadfast holding the Ducks to just six total shots, including only allowing a single shot in the second period.
VEGA NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After scoring the game-winning goal against Oregon, senior Brandi Vega was named the WSUCougars.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH Keidane McAlpine
Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is in his first year as head coach at Washington State, and his sixth year overall as a head coach...McAlpine is 11-6-1 in Pullman and 51-54-12 overall.
COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS
Washington State is No. 7 in the NSCAA Pacific Region poll...is No. 44 in the current NCAA RPI.
STINGY DEFENSE
This season, the Cougars have shut out eight different opponents...in the last two years, Washington State has only given up four goals in 16 matches played at Lower Soccer Field...while playing at home the Cougars have allowed only three goals in the previous 10 Pac-12 matches.

The Huskies are 10-6-3 overall and 3-5-2 in Pac-12 Play...are currently receiving votes in the latest NSCAA Top-25 poll...junior midfielder Lindsay Elston leads the team in scoring, recording 10 goals and five assists.

Washington State leads 9-7-5 all-time; including a record of 6-2-3 in Pullman...Cougars are 5-0-3 in their last eight meetings...last year, the two schools battled to a 0-0 tie in Seattle.
ZALUD AND DOYLE RECEIVE HONORS Delaney Zalud was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week and Rachael Doyle was named to CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll for their defensive performance that helped the Cougars defeat Oregon State and Oregon.

Junior Micaela Castain and senior Brandi Vega continue to rank among the statistical leaders in the Pac-12 Conference...Castain is ranked third goals per game (0.56)...is tied for third in goals (10) and game-winning goals (4)...fifth in points per game (1.17)...and is tied for fifth in points (21)...Vega is tied for sixth in assists per game (0.28)...tied for seventh in assists (5)...is eighth in points per game (1.06)...tied for eighth in points (19)...ranked 10th in shots per game (2.78) and is tied for 10th in goals (7), goals per game (0.39) and shots (50).
