SEATTLE - Jocelyn Jeffers scored a goal and added an assist as Washington State defeated Seattle 2-0 in spring soccer, Saturday. In the first half, Brandi Vega threaded a pass between defenders to a streaking Jeffers. Jeffers created a chance in the second half when she dribbled past two defenders before leaving a ball for Bethanie Skelton on the weak side. Skelton finished the opportunity from 10 yards out for the Cougars' second goal.
"Our focus has been defending, so a clean sheet is a good start," Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine said. "After some early confusion, we settled down and limited and limited a very well coach Seattle team's chances.
