Cougar Soccer Downs Montana in Spring Match
March 6, 2012
PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University soccer team opens it spring competition schedule with a 4-1 win over Montana, Sunday, March 4. Forward Brandi Vega, an All-Pac-12 First Team selection in 2011 and midfielder Jocelyn Jeffers, the team's leading scorer last fall, each scored a goal for the Cougars. In addition, midfielder Kayla Johnson and forward Bethanie Skelton, both key members of last season's NCAA Tournament team, found the mark for Washington State. "It was good to see us compete against someone else," Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine said. "Some of the things that don't show up in practice find their way onto the field in a game situation."
