Cougar Soccer Signs Two
Feb. 1, 2012
PULLMAN, Wash. - Kourtney Guetlein and Susie White have each signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in soccer at Washington State University, Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine announced, Wednesday. Guetlein and White are the first recruits for McAlpine, who was named the head coach at Washington State last month. "Adding Susie and Kourtney to the Cougar family is very exciting and makes us better in multiple areas," McAlpine said. "Kourtney is an athletic attacking player that strikes the ball very well. She will definitely add to an already talented group. Susie is a versatile and skilled player that reads the game extremely well. Her solid defending will impact our backline right away." A native of Monument, Colo., Guetlein has earned three varsity letters under coach Joe Martin at Lewis-Palmer High School. She has 76-career goals as a prep forward entering her senior season. She played club soccer with Real Colorado, a member of the Elite Clubs National League and was part of a United States squad that traveled to The Netherlands. White hails from Highlands Ranch, Colo., and plays at Mountain Vista High School for coach Theresa Echtermeyer. She was named All-Continental League First Team last spring as a junior while helping the Golden Eagles to a 5A state championship. She is a two-time State Cup MVP while playing for Real Colorado where she and Guetlein are teammates.
