PULLMAN, Wash. - Lindsay Taylor scored a pair of goals to lead No. 2 Stanford to a 3-0 victory over No. 24 Washington State in a Pacific-10 Conference women's soccer match at Lower Soccer Field, Sunday.

In the 36th minute, Taylor put a header into the net off a cross from Teresa Noyola to give the Cardinal (14-0-1, 4-0-0 Pac-10) a 1-0 advantage. Noyola and Taylor connected again in the 51st minute, this time off a corner kick to increase Stanford's lead to 2-0.

Just over five minutes later, Washington State (7-4-4, 1-2-1 Pac-10) goalkeeper Lindsay Parlee came out of the net in an attempt to corral a loose ball and Kelley O'Hara poked the ball past her. The ball trickled across the goalline as two Cougar defenders gave chase accounting for the final goal.

"I thought we played hard for 90 minutes," WSU Head Coach Matt Potter said. "We were disappointed in the manner in which we gave up goals, but you have to credit a very, very good Stanford team.

The crowd of 633 raised the attendance for the weekend to 1,371, the third-largest weekend in Cougar soccer history.

Washington State travels to Oregon for a 7 p.m. match, Friday, Oct. 24.
