Cougar Soccer Loses at California
Oct. 17, 2010
BERKELEY, Calif. - California scored twice in the second half to defeat Washington State 2-0 in Pacific-10 Conference women's soccer, Sunday. Katrin Omarsdottir and Alex Morgan each notched goals after intermission for the Golden Bears (7-4-3, 2-2-0 Pac-10). Neither team scored in the first half with Washington State (6-9-0, 1-3-0 Pac-10) holding a 5-4 advantage in shots. California finished the match with 10 shots to the Cougars' eight, but Washington State generated nine corner kicks to four for the Golden Bears. "It was a game of two halves," WSU Head Coach Matt Potter said. "We played well in the first half and created some opportunities, but couldn't put one away. In the second half, California took advantage of its opportunities and found a way to win." Washington State returns home to host Oregon State, Friday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. The Cougars will wear pink jerseys in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. COUGAR NOTES
