CAPTAINS' DIARY: WEEK EIGHT

Oct. 13, 2004

A rough weekend is now behind us. We played both University of Arizona and Arizona State this last weekend. We didn't perform to the best of our ability against Arizona, and we just didn't hold on long enough against ASU. Both of these losses hurt. One may have hurt a little more than the other for some of the girls. We were challenged emotionally, mentally and physically this last weekend but it will only make us stronger for this upcoming weekend.

The highlight of the trip was the opportunity to see and enjoy spending time with our former coach Pete's kids Sophie and Emma as well as Matt's daughter Cassidy.

Our challenge now is to put the past behind us and grow from it. We have a great home weekend coming up against UCLA and USC. We are all excited to play at home because we know how to defend our house. We love having fans out there to fire us up. We will have to stay focused this week in order to take control of our opportunity this weekend. Most importantly we will continue to have fun doing what we all love to do.
