Women's Golf Signs Two for 2012-13 Season

PULLMAN, Wash.- Rachel Lewis and Nani Yanagi have signed National Letters of Intent to compete in women's golf at Washington State, Head Coach Kelli Kamimura announced.

Lewis, a native of Gig Harbor, Wash., currently attends Peninsula High School. She has played on the varsity golf team for four years under head coach Larry Gilhuly. Lewis has been named to the first team all South Puget South League for the last three years and three-time SPSL player of the year. Lewis is also the defending Class 3A state champion.

Yanagi hails from Hilo, Hawaii, attends Waiakea High School, where she has earned four varsity letters in golf. Her team is the three-time defending Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion. Yanagi has been named her high school's most valuable player the last two seasons, was a member of the Hawaii Japan Cup team. She won the USGA Women's Public Links Hawaii Qualifier Champion and competed in the USGA Women's Public Links Championship.
