Cougars Will Face Tough Field in California

THIS WEEK
The Washington State women's golf team will follow up its momentous final round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational by traveling to Tarzana, Calif. to compete in the fourth annual Bruin Wave Invitational...Pepperdine and UCLA will combine efforts to host the tournament March 4-5 at the El Caballero Country Club...the Cougar women have competed in the annual event in each of its three years thus far.

THE COURSE
The Bruin Wave Invitational will be played at the par-72, 6,131-yard El Caballero Country Club...competing athletes will play 36 holes Monday beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start...final 18 holes will be played Tuesday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. off holes 1 and 10.

THE FIELD
In order of national ranking, the teams joining host schools No. 20 UCLA and No. 33 Pepperdine in the tournament will be: No. 1 USC, No. 8 Arizona, No. 21 Oklahoma State, No. 31 Denver, No. 40 UNLV, No. 74 San Diego State, No. 75 Long Beach State, No. 76 Washington State, No. 83 New Mexico, No. 87 Oregon State, No. 115 BYU, No. 155 New Mexico State, and No. 176 Hawaii.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
Representing the Cougar women in California will be senior Emma Betland, sophomore Lindsay Harmon, junior Mallory Kent, freshman Rachel Lewis, and sophomore Kristen Rue. Freshman Nani Yanagi will also compete in the event as an individual.

"We are looking forward to competing this week at the Bruin/Wave Invitational. It is a great event on a wonderful golf course. Our goal this week is to stay focused on the process and stay committed to each shot."
