Cougar Women's Golf Opens Spring Season

THIS WEEK

The Cougar women's golf team will travel to Yorba Linda, Calif., to compete in its first tournament of the spring season, the Gold Rush presented by Farmers...the tournament will be hosted by Long Beach State and the Yorba Linda Country Club, and will be played February 11-12.

THE COURSE
The Yorba Linda Country Club will play at par 72 and 6,077 yards for the tournament...competitors will play 54 holes (three rounds), with 36 being played Monday and the final 18 holes being played Tuesday...each day of competition will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

THE FIELD
Joining host school No. 79 Long Beach State in the Gold Rush presented by Farmers will be, in order of national ranking: No. 53 Gonzaga, No. 69 UC Irvine, No. 73 Washington State, No. 74 Cal State Fullerton, No. 84 San Diego State, No. 92 Nevada, No. 114 BYU, No. 139 Portland State, No. 165 Santa Clara, and No. 204 Cal State Northridge.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
Representing the Cougar women in California will be senior Emma Betland, sophomore Lindsay Harmon, junior Mallory Kent, freshman Rachel Lewis, and sophomore Kristen Rue.

RESULTS
Live scoring will be available during tournament play at golfstat.com. Results will also be posted online at wsucougars.com following each day of competition.
