Kim Welch and Donna Bell Lead the Cougars at Pepsi Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - Kim Welch and Donna Bell are tied at 43rd to lead the Cougars in the 2002 Pepsi Invitational at the Par 72, 6,218 yard Stanford Golf Course at Stanford, Calif.

Welch and Bell each carded a 79 and sit just four strokes back of the top 25. At the end of day one, UCLA leads the tournament, and four golfers are tied for first.

WSU heads into the second round in a tie for 12th with Oregon, and sits nine team strokes back of the top 10. Stephanie Parsley finished in a tie for 59th, and Jay-Lee Longbottom will head into tomorrow second round in a tie for 69th. Ashleigh Gilhully is positioned in a tie at 86th to round out the Cougar contingent.
