Kim Welch Swings Into Top 5 After Second Day At Sahalee Country Club

REDMOND, Wash. - The Washington State women's golf team teed off at the 10th hole this morning to start the second round of the 22nd Annual Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the par-72, 6,030 yard Sahalee Golf and Country Club.

The women shot a 319 (+31) for the day, which after 36 holes gives them a total of 635 and puts them in 12th place.

Junior Kim Welch started strong on the back nine, including four birdies, and finished the day at just one over par. Welch's strong performance moved her up five spots and is currently in a four way tie for fifth place. Stephanie Parsley also shot four birdies on the course, but finished the day tied in 19th, just five shots out shy of the Top 10.

Veteran Jay-Lee Longbottom improved her score by three strokes shooting a 79 for the day and moving her up five spots. Longbottom now sits four shots out of the Top 25. Heading into the final round, Heather O'Leary finished the day at 77th, while fellow Cougar Lindsey Bogden sits in 80th.

The third and final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational will tee off Wednesday morning.
