Kim Welch and Jay-Lee Longbottom Tied at 18th After First Round

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Kim Welch and Jay-Lee Longbottom are knotted up in a tie for 18th after the first round of the Heather Farr Memorial at the Par 72, 6,158 yard Omni Interlock Golf Course at Broomfield, Colo., Monday.

The duo of Longbottom and Welch shot identical scores of 77 and with two rounds tomorrow, sit just six shots back of leaders Maria Velente of Idaho (71, -1), and Lynette Duran of Colorado State (71, -1).

As a team, the Cougars sit right in the middle of the 15-team field at seventh place. Stephanie Parsley and Donna Bell also shot identical scores of 80 on the day, and are in a tie for 49th.

Heading into tomorrow's second round and final round, Lindsey Bogden is in a tie at 72nd, and Katharine Dorris rounded out the Cougar contingent with a tie at 78th. Dorris is entered into the tournament as an individual and her strokes are not calculated into the overall team total.
