PINEHURST, N.C. - Washington State's women golfers Anastasia Kostina and Amy Eneroth led the Cougars with finishes in the top-10 at the Pinehurst Challenge, held at the par-72, 5,954 yard No.8 Pinehurst Golf Course, March 14.

Kostina finished the three-day tournament in a tie for third, marking her sixth top-10 finish of the season, and the 18th of her career. The All-American currently ranks second in the record books for top-10 career finishes. Her performance at the Pinehurst Challenge moved her into fifth place with six top-10 finishes in a single season, where she is tied with Cougar great, Kim Welch.

Freshman Amy Eneroth garnered her third consecutive top-10 finish, completing the 54-hole tournament tied for 10th, finishing five shots shy of the top 5. Eneroth currently holds tight to the top spot in freshman scoring average in the Cougar record books (76.0), barely edging out Kim Welch (76.1), who set the record in 2002.

Fellow Cougar Jessica Black finished the tournament in a tie for 44th, while teammate Tracy Broders shot a 78, her lowest single round score of the event, to claw her way up the charts to finish in a tie for 59th. Redshirt junior Heather O'Leary competed as an individual and finished in a four-way tie for 55th, while sophomore Brooke Henderson completed the tournament knotted at 62nd to round out the Cougar contingent.

The Cougars entered the final round of the Pinehurst Challenge in sixth, but battled their way to a fifth place finish, marking their fourth top-5 finish of the season.

The women's golf team will return to action when they take on familiar Pacific-10 foes at the Duck Invitational, March 27-28.
