Cougar Women's Golf Posts Fifth-Place Finish

Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

KANEOHE, Hawaii - Mallory Kent fired a 1-under 71 in the final round of the 28th Annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational hosted by Hawaii, Wednesday.

With the effort, Kent finished in fifth place with a 3-over, 219. Washington State posted the second-best round in the final-18 holes (+13), trailing only No. 7 and tournament champion Arizona (+5). The Cougars, who began the day 10th, also finished fifth, just one stroke behind No. 41 Mississippi.

Kent converted five birdie putts in the final round, including four during a 12-hole stretch. Kristin Rue (+3) and Rachel Lewis (+5) each turned in their best round of the tournament to aid the Cougars' cause.

The Cougars conclude their regular season in Onion Creek, Texas, April 1-2 in the Challenge at Onion Creek hosted by Texas State.
