Kim Welch Leads The Pack After Two Rounds At The Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. - Two-time defending medalist Kim Welch dominates the field and sits in a tie for the top spot after completing the first two rounds of the Duck Invitational at the par 72, 5,968 yard Eugene Country Club.

The Cougars, who have four women sitting among the top 15, currently sit in second place, just four shots out of first and rest 17 shots ahead of the other teams in the field.

After completing 36-holes of play, Kim Welch leads the Cougars after shooting a combined total of 147, ending the day at just three over par. Sisters Ana and Maria Kostina are making an impact on the course as they now find themselves tied for ninth, while junior Jay-Lee Longbottom is tangled up in a tie for 13th, just two shots out of the top 10.

Heading into Tuesday's final round, Stephanie Parsley is knotted in a tie for 29th, just two shots out of the top 25. To round out the Cougar contingent, Heather O'Leary sits in a tie for 41st and Ashleigh Gilhuly finished the day in 48th, both of which competed as individuals.

The 18 holes of the Duck Invitational will begin Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
