As a result of its fourth place effort in the Petite Final, the varsity four recorded a 10th place overall finish at the national championships.

The varsity four rowed a time of 7:43.04 to best Princeton (7:45.09) and Stanford (7:56.00) in the Petite. Brown captured the title clocking a time of 7:18.83 in the Grand Final.

"The varsity four did a great job today," WSU Coach Jane LaRiviere said. "I don't think they could have done any better. They rowed a great race.

"I feel the same way about the second varsity eight," LaRiviere added. "That was a very competitive race. There were not many seconds separating the field."

Propelled by a first place effort in the varsity eight Grand Final, Harvard won the team competition with 59 points, two points ahead of Brown. WSU finished the team competition with 10 points.
