WSU Varsity Four Highlights a Solid Day of Cougar Rowing

Each varsity four boat defeated its Husky counterpart Friday.

WSU CAREER: Competed with the second varsity eight and junior varsity eight in the fall as a SOPHOMORE (2011-12)...in the spring, competed with the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four...helped row with the varsity four to a second-place finish at the San Diego Crew Classic...member of the varsity eight that won the Fawley Cup with a victory over Gonzaga... a member of the second varsity eight boat that defeated Oregon State as the team captured the Winchell Cup for the third straight year...competed with novice team as a FRESHMAN (2010-11)...helped the team to a fourth-place finish at the San Diego Crew Classic...also fourth-place, finishing ahead of UCLA, Stanford, and USC at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner and starting outfielder in softball under coach Jim Taylor at Central Catholic High School...second team all-conference outfielder as a freshman, sophomore and junior ...team won Mount Hood Conference Champions all three years...took second at State (class 6A) as a freshman... helped club softball team, Northwest Blaze coached by Chris Kelly, take seventh in the nation and second in state in 2008... Rowed for Nick Haley at the Rose City Rowing Club.

PERSONAL: Kendall Alex Boliba...born in October of 1991...father Daryl played basketball at the University of Portland and is now an insurance agent...mother Doody works as a human resource manager...uncle Ken Willett is a WSU graduate... brother Kyle...served as a Rambassador in high school...honor roll with a GPA of 3.96...plans on pursing a degree in sports management at WSU.
