Cougars Finish Sixth at Pac-12 Rowing Championships

WSU finished just one and a half points behind 10th-ranked Stanford.

WSU CAREER: Rowed with the varsity four in the fall and spring SOPHOMORE (2011-12) year...helped the varsity four to a second-place finish in Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup Grand Final at the San Diego Crew Classic...first place finish in her group at the Lake Natoma Invite...rowed with the varsity four in their victories in the Gonzaga and Oregon State duals...took fourth with the varsity four in the Pacific-12 Conference Championships...Pac-12 All Academic First Team with a 3.65 GPA...competed with the novice team during FRESHMAN (2010-11) year...helped the team to a fourth-place finish at the San Diego crew classic...also a fourth-place finish over UCLA, Stanford, and USC at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner as a pole-vaulter for head coach John Hill at Bellevue High School...as a sophomore and junior, participated in Regional Championships...as a senior, competed in the track and field State championships...maintained a 3.7 grade point average as an AP Scholar.

PERSONAL: Gina Head...born in June of 1992...father David is a musician...mother Betty works as a sales director...brother Vinny...enjoys yoga, music, and reading...plans to pursue degrees in biology and pre-medicine at Washington State.
