Hello again from the beautiful Palouse. Fall has arrived in the Northwest, turning the hills golden and leaves multicolored. What an incredibly beautiful sight to see.

Practices are now officially in full swing and it is a great time of teaching and getting to know our players' personalities. The Cougars are learning an entirely new basketball system on offense and defense. Improvements are certainly being seen each day of new drills and skill development.

A huge thanks to all of the Cougar fans who turned out for the Night with Cougar Basketball dinner and auction in Seattle last Friday night. What a fun and festive evening. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you loyal, die hard fans!

This past weekend we took the entire team and staff to Spokane for our practices in the community just north of us. It was outstanding to have fans, media, coaches and high school players come view our practices and programs at Mead High School and Spokane Falls Community College (the temporary home of Shadle Park High School). Both Coach Drew at Mead and Coach Dellezem at Shadle Park were gracious with their hospitality and use of facilities.

We certainly enjoyed sharing our practices with such enthusiastic supporters and we had a great time. As a coaching staff, we know how important it is to share the game we love and help develop the next generation of players by providing them open previews of our team. Our weekend was certainly well received by the community of Spokane.

Recruiting continues to go very well! We will have some more prospective student-athletes on campus this weekend. We are looking forward to showing them our wonderful campus and introducing them to our department people that make the WSU experience so great for our student-athletes.

Well it's off to watch film and practice. Remember our practices are always open to the public. Check our website and come see your Cougars build the foundation for a great season.
